I spent over a year knitting a beautiful throw blanket. Off and on, I would work on it in fits, with long periods of ignoring it in between. In the last few months, due to a job that often leaves me with extended stretches of time with nothing to do, I worked on it sometimes five, six hours a day. It is really stunning. It's a mossy green color and full of intricate patterns and fringe. It is the biggest knitting project I have done, and I am very proud of it.
I've used it once.
The cat won't get off of it.

The Uneasy Truce Between Squigs and Sandy
Squigs is my cat, and he is something of a celebrity in my neighborhood. Sandy is my California Kingsnake. There is an uneasy peace between the two. Each is rightfully suspicious of the other. Sandy hides under her waterbowl when Squigs is near, and Squigs eyes Sandy's tank warily when she is active. The problem is me. My computer is in the same room as the snake, and Squigs follows me wherever I go, and both seem supernaturally interested in the internet. Specifically, my usage of said net. I feel sorry for Sandy, more often then not she seems to be on the losing end of things, and just retreats under her bowl. I don't fair much better, as it is virtually impossible to type with a freaking cat sitting on your keyboard. The only 'winner' is Squigs. And that is the first truth of my blog, Squigs always wins.
